General practice is under increased pressure and an increasing number of practices are taking a more strategic approach to the role administrative personnel and reception staff can play. There is a growing understanding that investing in the professional development of staff not only supports the individual but also, by optimising their skills, increases job satisfaction and has a positive impact on the whole practice team – and patients too.

By investing in the training and development of practice staff, BETH intends to make the whole system more efficient, freeing up time for doctors to spend on their consultations thus allowing non-clinical staff to take on more of the administrative tasks previously carried out by GPs and also finding ways to improve service for patients.
