As part of GP training, all trainees are to receive and participate in regular teaching activities. This includes:
— Half day release teaching sessions (programme coming soon)
— Away days for ST1, ST2 and ST3
— Half day release
Every Wednesday during term time (30 weeks per year), there is 3 hour teaching session for all GP trainees. These usually take place in the Education Centre, PRUH, between 2-5pm.
Trainees are expected to attend 80% of sessions yearly in order to satisfy ARCP requirements.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, teaching sessions have been held remotely via Zoom.
We aim to make presentations and other information relevant to the teaching available here.
Away days are organised for trainees across the scheme and usually take place in May. They promote team building and are well received by trainees. They are sometimes a mix of enjoyable and thought providing workshops and other times we try to get out and about on team building adventures in the great outdoors!
